Great Yacht! Great Service! Perfect Cruising Grounds!!!

5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 26, 2014

Wow, that is all I can say!

From the welcome to the goodbye we had the most incredible charter holiday ever! It beat any trips I have done in the Caribbean or Mediterranean, hands down!

The yacht 'SY Oasis' is a spacious, comfortable, safe and solid catamaran. The overall feel is warm and friendly with a lovey Thai Decor Trimming'. The open deck space is bigger than any picture can do justice, with plenty space for lying in the sun, drinking cocktails and enjoying the new exotic views everyday.
As a keen sailor, the yacht's performance the best charter cat I have ever sailed. The speeds, performance and sail wardrobe was impressive ... we even flew the gennaker on numerous occasions, something not many charter yachts and skipper like to do. The sailing was fantastic with calm seas and great winds!
Let's not forget the food! If you think you have tasted good Thai food, think again ... the chef was incredible! Every day consisted of a full breakfast, a lunch with a minimum of 3 different dishes and dinner with a minimum of 4 different dishes. Not to mention the 'endless' supply of fresh fruits.
Other activities included, Diving, snorkeling, canoe's fishing and cave exploration.
Top it all off with a daily Thai Massage on the open deck and you starting to understand one day in the life of a 'SY Oasis' charter.

The cruising ground is magnificent. From the amazing cliffs, caves and fishing villages of Phang Nga Bay to the parties and diving around Phi-Phi islands to the seclusion, crystal clear waters and beauty of and around the Butang island chain. If you want a bust bustling spot for parties and shopping, no problem! If you want a secluded spots to yourself, no problem.

Thank you to the Oasis team! You guys were fantastic! See you next year for the Similan islands!!!

6 years running

We are a group of mostly Norwegians that have been having an annual trip on Oasis 6 years now. We go in October before the real rush to Phuket start for 3 nights/4 days. Standard trip is leave Chalong bay in the morning and head to Krabi first day with a stopover at Chicken Island for a swim and visit to the beach-bar before heading in to Krabi (Au Nang or Ray Leh depending on the wind). Second day Bamboo island and Hin Klang for snorkeling and overnight at Phi Phi. Then third day see Phi Phi Le with Maya Bay etc and then either go to Racha Noi or back to Phi Phi Don for the night. We have been having a captain with us every year as well as a chef. Both have been very god and professional. Food is excellent with bth western style and Thai food. Oasis is a good boat. Sails well and is very comfortable if the temperature is not a problem. no AC, but with the fans and open hatches this is not a problem at all. Sleeping on the front between the hulls is also a nice experience. I can highly recommend the experience to anyone who want to see a bit more secluded places of the area between Phuket and Krabi. Enjoy !!

This is THE way to see Thailand! Four of us on one of Bob's yachts for 7 days with Skipper Peter and Chef Phuong - absolute heaven! Peter and Phuong spoilt us with amazing food, unforgettable experiences and the beauty of Thailand. Each mealtime Phuong would prepare and present us with multiple Thai dishes that she created in the small galley. We all put on weight on this trip, but so worth it! Peter's itinerary was superb. We were treated to idyllic coves, vast beaches and the best that Thailand has to offer. The timing of our arrival at each special spot was carefully planned to avoid the tourist rush, so it really did feel like our own paradise.

From the personal pickup at the airport to the last cocktail in Phuket, Bob Mott handled everything so perfectly. This is a trip I will never forget and highly recommend to all my friends.

We had a top trip on Oasis, excellent meals by Oi our Thai cook and a very experience Thai skipper Nong who new all the quiet locations to visit. Amazing scenery in Phang Nga Bay, Railey Beach in Krabi and further south to Koh Rok Nok and Koh Muk to the emerald cave. Lots of easy passages with plenty of time to explore and relax at the end of the day. We would recommend Oasis and her crew and the Charter Catamaran agents to anyone that wants a trouble free holiday. They are right when they say come as a guest leave as a friend. Much better than us landlubbers could have hoped for. We will be back again.

I was fortunate enough to do a day cruise with a group of friends on Nina a while back. It was such a great day that my husband and I booked it for a two night cruise for our anniversary. The Captain did all the work, which is my way of yachting.

We took off from Chalong Bay and left the direction to the Captain. We avoided the tourist boats and went to secluded beachs where we could swim and snorkle alone. We ate on the boat for most meals, but stopped off on the second night at quaint little restaurant.

It's a great boat for two couples to take a few day cruise. Plenty of room to sunbake and comfortable area to wine and dine. The bunks are spacious and the boat is immaculate.

We will be doing this again and I highly recommend a day trip or a few nights cruise if you are wanting to do something special and really see the waters around Phuket without being stuck with a bunch of tourists.

We were a group of 10 businessmen - longstanding friends on a reunion trip to Phuket for a week. Before coming we were put in contact with Bob Mott. Bob was amazingly helpful in finding a superb boat for us at a much better price than others offered. He kept in contact before our arrival and gave advice and direction re other aspects of our visit where he obviously received no benefit. All were right on target and connected us with whatever we wanted as if we had been living there for years with full local knowledge.
On meeting Bob he was most accommodating in showing us through the boat, and it proved to be immaculate and crew were highly professional and efficient re seamanship, organisation, cleanliness, and flexibility to automatically do anything without our asking.
Above all, Bob on land and the crew at sea were not "in our face" but low key, friendly and efficient. We could have a wonderful time as a group with everything delivered without fuss.
If you want to do anything connected with water in Phuket, for sure Bob Mott will be your best friend.
I highly recommend him and the boats and crew that he can assemble for any experience.

To whom this may be of interest,

Last year a couple from NZ, my wife Robyn and myself enjoyed a fantastic sailing experience on board Oasis sailing around the outer islands around Phuket and the sheltered waters of Phang Nga Bay. The skipper owner Bob Mott and the Thai Cook Dah provided us all with a unique experience. The island and scenery were beautiful, along with the exceptional Thai food that was prepared three times a day by Dah. This along with the comfort afforded by a very well decked out and provisioned Catamaran that provided all occupants with there own cabin and bathroom facility made for a very memorable holiday. Highly recommended for all those who are considering an adventure in an exotic part of the world.

Cheers Barry

My husband and I recently celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary by renewing our vows in Thailand with our immediate family present - 8 adults and 7 children (10 yrs and under) in total. There were two parts to our special day. A buddhist ceremony at the Panwa Beach Resort to renew our vows followed by a relaxing day sailing. We made contact with Bob, who promptly put us in touch with Heike from SEA Dreams to organise the ceremony side of things. Heike and Bob worked together and planned THE most amazing and special day for us and our family. They listened to what we wanted and with their local knowledge they executed everything perfectly - from our hotel transfers to the ceremony, a days sailing and a special dinner on the beach front at the resort. Bob and Heike thought of everything. Bob's boat was clean, safe and his crew were faultless. We enjoyed finger food and tropical fruit for lunch and when we arrived at Racha Yai, a gorgeous paradise, we had snorkelling gear and kayaks available for our use. A big thank you to Bob, Heike and the crew. This day was very special to us, and a day we will have in our hearts forever. If you are celebrating an occasion I can thoroughly recommend a day on the Oasis and putting your trust in Bob's very capable hands to make your day very special.

We had a great day trip on Oasis which was actually a donated prize we bid for at a local charity night to improve the opportunities for young people in the Phuket community . Met at Chalong Pier personally by Bob the company marketing person we boarded the shuttle bus to the end of the pier where Oasis was waiting. All went to clockwork. A brisk sail down to Koh Racha Yai and Bungalow Bay, swimming, snorkelling, kayaking, a walk ashore and lunch ashore at a local Thai seafood restaurant. A quick stop on the way back at Coral Island for a last swim and snorkel then back to the pier sunburnt, tied and comfortably topped up with wine and beer. All for a worthy charity to boot. Thanks to Nong the skipper and Cha the engineer and Bob for all the organisation – couldn’t have been better.

2 families, 3 adults, 4 childs.
The Oasis: wonderfull catamaran, full equiped, plenty of space, perfect for childs.
The captain: very good captain, always looking for the childs security, he did not speak english very well but enough. There was a problem with the DVD and he went to buy another one.
The hostess: nice and kind, she cooked the best meals.
Bob Mott: it is very difficult to find an owner more professional, concerned about all, kind, and with a solution to any request or problem. You can blindy trust in him. Thanks Bob.
The Bay: incredible, and the best way to visit it is by boat, I would say the only logical way. We told the captain to visit only not crowded islands. And he did. Its were wonderfull. To take a bath in solitary beaches, to explore the islands, etc. At the end we needed two days more.

Bob was great and had everything pre-organised onboard before we arrived. The boat was spacious and very comfortable. Captain Nong knew all the best sights around the island and how to avoid the crowds. Beautiful secluded beaches, amazing coral reefs, great places to eat.
He was also a fab chef! Next time we will just preorder his yum Thai food!
Yes, we have already planned our trip back next year..

Researched and was nervous wiring money to NINA owner in Thailand. But it was amazing!! We wired USD to the Bob's Bank with instructions to convert to Euros upon receipt. I just googled the Euro amount to USD and sent the USD amount to Bob. Worked with no problems. Bob immediately emailed receipt.

We had researched where we wanted to go sailing on the journey via the internet!
Bob the owner of the Nina coordinated everything. Bob asked about our food preferences and where we wanted to go, and our arrival and departure info.

After flying for entire day from Florida and very tired and our late arrival at Phuket, Bob had arranged a driver to be waiting to take us to our hotel which was right where the Nina was docked. In the morning Bob drove us to get some wine. The local high end Wine and champagne is expensive, stop at duty free before leaving your departure country and pick up one bottle per person and bring it on the plane with you for half the cost. I also stopped at 7 Eleven to pick up a tourist SIM card unlimited WIFI for 300 THB approximately 10 USD. I have a rooted sprint S4 Galaxy. Pop out the sprint sim card pop in the tourist Sim card and broadcast wifi, all my devices had WIFI for almost the entire trip, with Google Voice even able to make free phone calls to my Sons.

Now to the trip: Joe was our Captain and Nay was the cook.we sailed to James Bond Island and then down towards Monkey Beach, "The Beach" to Krabi. Now there were many stops, snorkeling and incredible Views, way to much Great food and Snacks!. Nay the cook was Thai and we asked for Thai meals and they were incredible! All the meals were amazing! Joe and Nay were extremely friendly and accommodating to all of our requests!!

Some cautions evidently Thailand has become the most abused country for ATM and credit cards, make sure you call all your ATM and credit cards and make sure you will be able to use them on your visit. My ATM card would only me to do a one time withdrawal between a 24 hour period during my stay. Work it out before you leave. You will Thai Currency or USD or Euros for lots things like a meals onshore, massages and gifts. You must have Thai currency for some of the national park fees about 500 THB per person should be great! You also should try to have some currency to tip the crew at the end of your incredible journey I tipped about 200 USD to the Captain which was all I had, definitely not enough for the trip of a life time!!

Paying the additional drop fee to drop at Krabi I think is great way to do the trip if your going that direction to be able to see and do more on the trip!! Flying out of Krabi was not a problem for follow on adventure to Angkor Wat in Cambodia, another MUST DO!

Our single day trip in the Nina was absolutely stunning. Our skipper was knowledgeable and welcoming. Our chef was awesome- amazing food. The scenery was unforgettable. Sailing the day on the sea on our own charter was a very special experience. Booking the trip was smooth... Bob the owner was extremely responsive and really partnered with me to schedule everything properly and the entire experience was seamless. His skipper sailed to where we were staying the night before (Koh Yao Noi) and picked us up right at or hotel so we didn't have to deal with transfers and getting to and from any main islands. I highly recommend booking your day trip with Charter Catamaran company.

We sailed the Mergui archipelago with Bob's team for 10 days and it was one of the best trips we've ever had. For a start, Bob left no stone unturned to ensure everything was organised well in advance, including sending us photos of which wines he could buy on our behalf! We exchanged so many entertaining emails that he felt like one of the family before we even arrived in Thailand. Even though the boat (Oasis) might not be as new as some of the catamarans which are advertised, this was excellent value for money and the boat was fast and very stable. The catamaran was spacious, comfortable and very well equipped with everything you need, both for safety and for luxury. Captain Nong was a fanstatic skipper, with a great sense of humour and his assistant, Oi, an excellent cook. It was very reassuring to discover that he was also a chef, and she a sailor! We visited a few quite 'off the beaten track' places and were determined to do some kitesurfing where the locals had never seen a kite - Captain Nong happily searched for just the right places, instinctively knowing which beaches would have the right wind, depth and aspect. We will definitely do this trip again, with Bob's team.

We just completed our 11th Charter in Phuket of which 6 has been on Oasis. We go to Krabi for the first night and then Phi Phi for the next 2 with various stops and side-trips to other island in the area. Oasis sails fantastic and has some really nicely looking lines. Cabins are spacious and comfortable. I prefer sleeping on the netting in the front between the 2 hulls. Nice breeze there. Food has been superb every year with now Oi having cooked for us the last 3 years. I can highly recommend the boat to any group from 4 to 8 adults.
